FC Barcelona / Data / BI / 2014–2022
Corporate data warehouse and analytics dashboards
- Context
- At FC Barcelona there was no shared data platform: each department relied on its own silos and it was common to find multiple conflicting sources for the same indicator.
- Contribution
- Project leadership from scratch: discovery sessions with each department to map sources, architecture definition with the team (Oracle for the data warehouse, PowerCenter for ETL, and Qlik for analytics), and delivery coordination with autonomy reporting directly to the IT Director of Data.
- Delivery
- Corporate data warehouse and analytical dashboards for commercial, HR, medical services, sports, and retail departments, validated with key users through formal UAT and sign-off.
- Impact
- Transition from scattered silos to a trusted platform recognized with the CIONET Mejor Data Intelligence 2020 award. User confidence in the data showed immediately: departments began requesting new evolutions and expanding the initial pilots.
